Bamini Keyboard Layout
Every key sequence in the Bamini code page: the base letters, the vowel signs, and the combined forms, taken from the same data file the converter uses.
Base Keys
Independent vowels and consonants each sit on one key. The Tamil letter is what the font draws; the code is what is actually stored in the document.

Rows are consonants, columns are vowel signs. Each cell holds the Tamil result above and the exact Bamini characters below, so you can copy the code straight out of this table. The Tamil side follows the Unicode Tamil block (U+0B80–U+0BFF); the Bamini side is the code page the font expects.

How to Type in Bamini
- Type or paste Unicode Tamil Use the Unicode to Bamini converter as your input pad — you do not need to learn the key positions to produce correct Bamini text.
- Copy the Bamini output The right-hand box holds the exact characters the font expects.
- Paste and apply the font Paste into Word, PageMaker or CorelDRAW and set the font to Bamini. Installing the font alone does not convert anything.
- Check vowel signs that wrap ொ ோ ௌ add characters before and after the consonant, so a missing prefix shows up as a wrong vowel, not a missing letter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the physical keyboard layout or a character map?
Both are on this page. The key grid shows which Latin key produces which Tamil letter; the table below it shows every consonant combined with every vowel sign, which is what you actually need when a letter will not type.
How do I type பூ in Bamini?
Type the ப key G followed by the ூ sign }: the pair G} renders as பூ. Several other letters do have single dedicated keys for their long-vowel forms — டூ is ^, for example. The table below lists the exact keys for every letter.
Why do some rows have unusual symbols?
Bamini reuses punctuation and accented Latin characters for Tamil letters. ; is the pulli, / is ஃ, and several capital letters stand for long vowels or dedicated u/uu forms. The chart shows the exact character to type or copy.
